Manufacturing Our Future Summit

1st Annual Milton P. Higgins Scholarships Awarded to 15 Students

On Thursday, October 14, 2004, the Manufacturing Advancement Center presented the 1st Annual Milton P. Higgins Scholarship Awards. They were awarded to 15 vocational technical education students at the 7th Annual Manufacturing Our Future Summit.

The winners were determined by an essay contest in which students were asked to describe the impact of vocational education on their lives. The first round of judging was conducted at each school. The final round of judging was conducted by a panel of judges from academia and industry.

The awards were given in the areas of business, construction, health services, information technology, and manufacturing and were presented at the breakout sessions for their respective areas during the Manufacturing Our Future Summit.
