What’s Trending in Manufacturing?

• House Science Reconciliation Bill Includes $1B for MEP
  Good news for manufacturing support at the federal level. The U.S. House Science Committee released its portion of the reconciliation bill which includes $1 billion, cost share exempt, for MEP over the 2022-28 fiscal years. There are still a lot of steps to go, but with both the appropriations and reconciliation it looks like the House is providing a total of $441.66 million for MEP in FY22 (assuming the billion is equally divided over the FY22-28 years). This amount roughly tracks with the authorized funding level provided in the Senate passed U.S. Innovation and Competition Act (USICA).
