Garabino NASCAR Team Partners with Starrett Tools and Mayhew Steel

By Brian Danko

Bob Garbarino is always looking to ‘retool’ his race team. And with that thinking in mind, the Garbarino team, with driver Jimmy Blewett, added the sponsorship of Mayhew Steel Products of Turner Falls, MA, to their car joining primary sponsor, Starrett Tools.

Blewett in his first season with Garbarino’s #4 Mystic Missile is currently sixth in the points but is just 35 points behind three time champion and points leader, Doug Coby. Blewett has three top 5’s and five top 10’s in the six races held to date.

Josh Morse, the national sales manager for Mayhew said that the fit with Starrett Tools is a natural fit. "We haven’t partnered with Starrett Tools in the past but we are looking forward to the remainder of this season."

While Morse himself hasn’t been to a modified tour race before, he has heard if their reputation at the ‘Magic Mile’ at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and is excited about seeing them in person. "While I haven’t been, many of our employees are NASCAR fans."

Morse said that the companies marketing department is planning on doing some events at tracks this year to thank their buyers and customers.

"This is a natural extension for us. Our brand name is well known in the automotive industry. We want to expand and reinforce our reputation in the market place and we believe this will help us."

Mayhew Steel Products is an American institution that takes pride in its heritage. Our American-manufactured, rugged tools deliver performance professionals can count on, day in and day out. As a result, Mayhew has become known for true American craftsmanship—the best tools made from the best materials—and that’s a reputation we’re dedicated to upholding. Today, the majority of our tools continue to be manufactured in the U.S. What little we outsource in order to remain competitive comes from countries such as France and Taiwan, where they value quality just as much as we do. We’ve had to adjust our approach a little to keep up with the changing economy, but we refuse to sacrifice quality and remain committed to manufacturing tools our customers can rely on.

Mayhew Steel Products, much like Starrett Tools, is a family-run business with business roots that reach back to 1856.

"I think that it’s great that two New England based businesses can come together to promote their businesses." Morse said.

Mayhew Tools will be on the car starting at Loudon joining Starrett Tools and everyone connected with the Bob Garbarino team is excited about them.
