MassMEP Project Manager, Dick Ayers, Wins Awards at EMPA Convention

What a great time we had at this year’s Eastern Motorsports Press Association Convention. I never thought I would earn three photo awards for Ayers Racing Images, including two First Places. And on the same evening that Dick Bergen, Mike Stefanik, Ricky Craven and Gary Balogh joined the EMPA Hall of Fame. To me this is a once in a lifetime experience.

Thanks to Sommer and Eric Berndt, I placed first in the Feature Category. It was no contest once the judges saw Sommer. Thanks also to great friend and mentor Dennis Krieger who convinced me to go to the Indiana Sprint Week this year where I took 1st Place in Crash Action with a flip photo of Jarett Andretti at Gas City. I also placed 3rd in the Unpublished Color category with a shot of Max McGhee at Kokomo, IN.

A great time was had by all and a great job was done by the EMPA Board of Directors, President Ron Hedger, and Emcee for the evening, Earl Krause.
