Electrical Controls Engineer, Kinefac, Worcester, MA

Kinefac develops and manufactures metal forming machinery from its world class facility in Worcester, Massachusetts, and has sales offices in Shanghai, China, and Chennai, India. Kinefac technology and engineering also support a range of other applications which include the company’s KINECOIL medical device coiling systems, KINE-FORM dies, KINESPIN centrifugal fluid and parts cleaning equipment, and KINEPOWER hydraulic actuation systems.
We are searching for a full time Electrical Engineer to grow with our company and provide designed solutions from inception through production in new product design and in existing product upgrades of electrical controls systems for industrial machinery and processes. The successful candidate will be a self-starting individual, resourceful, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities. Must be flexible to accept assignments in support of overall site goals.
Basic Qualifications

Bachelors of Engineering Degree preferred or equivalent industry experience is required

1 – 5 years’ experience programming various PLC platforms and implementing HMIs in an OEM environment. Demonstrated experience with current PLC controlled automated equipment primarily Allen-Bradley PLC and Rockwell language required. Working knowledge of current Rockwell Suite of programming tools.

PLC, HMI, drives, and servo programming in accordance with industry and client guidelines

Controls design including, but not limited to, power circuits, I/O ladder diagrams, enclosure layout, panel layout, operator station layout, bill of materials, termination and field wiring diagrams are required in accordance with NEC, NFPA, and UL specifications utilizing AutoCAD.

Capable of sizing electrical components and identifying proper devices and their application.

Basic understanding of safety circuits, design and usage, and pneumatics and hydraulic circuits and components

Computer skills involving MS Office
Duties/Job Responsibilities

Design and evaluate mechanical and electrical devices, and systems

Analyze and develop design approaches necessary to meet production requirements for new, altered, upgraded, or improved products and processes.

Advise on technical aspects of design as needed.

Conduct/participate in hands on electrical start-ups including setup, programming and debugging
-
Field service and installation at customer site may require domestic or international travel
