With the assistance of the MassMEP ISO 9001:2008 Collaborative program, SemiNex Corporation has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification. From Peabody, Massachusetts, the company manufactures laser diodes used for industrial, medical, telecom, and medical applications. They successfully passed their audits and were recommended for certification prior to completing the entire program.
SemiNex chose to implement ISO to improve their existing documentation system and felt that achieving the international quality standard would provide added confidence to their customers. The ISO implementation was managed by company president David Bean. John Callahan handled the engineering, product documentation, and design process documentation. Matt Hamerstrom focused on order fulfillment, tractability, import/export control, and continuous improvement documentation.
