Inside Sales Engineer~ Technical Customer Service Support

Worcester MA
Our client, a manufacturer of high quality engineered plastic components used in mechanical wear and conveyor applications, is committed to creative solutions, on-time delivery and outstanding customer service.  Currently, a challenging opportunity exists for Inside Sales Engineer.

Being part of our client’s team, you’ll enjoy the benefit of working in an environment where you can have an immediate impact by solving customers’ needs for specialized components and parts for their custom application or by recommending standard machined components from among the extensive catalogue.

This position requires a creative problem solver who possesses a unique combination of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to identify customers’ requirements; determine the right mechanical solution and quickly coordinate with internal and external resources to accurately process the order- cost effectively and timely.

Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, you’ll also prepare quotations working with an Estimator and vendors; process orders through the ERP system; assemble data for the production department; and, serve as point of contact for telephone and email communications among customers and sales representatives.

We’re seeking a results oriented individual with exceptional organizational and time management skills to build rapport with customers. This is an opportunity to learn and grow within the organization, mastering the product offerings while providing outstanding and practical solutions to customers’ needs.

The successful candidate also has/is

  • Minimum 2 years’ customer service experience in manufacturing with technical service orientation

  • 1 year minimum experience working with mechanical applications

  • Understanding of machine shop and machine building equipment

  • Experience with machined plastics components for  mechanical motion and automation applications, desirable

  • Associates degree in mechanical engineering; B.S. degree preferred

  • Ability to read blueprints

  • Strong Math Skills- geometry, trig, units of measure 

  • Knowledge of CAD

  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
