The primary responsibility of the Production Manager is to direct, plan, and coordinate production within an electronics manufacturing environment. Optimize production efficiency, maintain and improve product quality standards, and achieve production goals. Effectively communicate with the production and leadership teams. All production team leads and members of the mechanical assembly team report directly to this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-Identify, lead, and implement process efficiency improvements using lean production techniques and best practices
-Identify and track production performance measurements to achieve profitability in the Production Department
-Responsible for production staffing and equipment resource requirements
-Supervise and motivate a team of workers
-Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development to achieve the business objectives
-Responsible for the effective management of the human and material resources
-Manage production budget
-Ensure compliance to QMS
-Conduct performance reviews for production team leaders and for members of the mechanical assembly team
Other Duties
-Work with production trainer to ensure training and redundant skill sets are identified and achieved
-Work with the Quality and Manufacturing Engineering departments to identify root causes of production quality problems and prevent problems from reoccurring
-Support preventative maintenance program for production equipment
-Serve as a core team member for new product development projects when assigned.
-Support company policies as described in the employee handbook
-Ensure implementation and evolution of safety practices
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-Bachelors degree in Production Management or Engineering desired or equivalent experience
-7+ years electronics manufacturing experience with 3+ years in production management
-Proven successful implementation of Lean Manufacturing Methods a must (i.e., JIT, KANBAN, cellular manufacturing techniques)
-Lean Certifications a plus
-Thorough understanding of PCB assembly including SMT and through hole, as well as IPC workmanship and soldering standards
-Familiarity with in-circuit and functional testing, and electro-mechanical assembly
-Excellent people, written and verbal communication skills
-Proficient in Microsoft Office application (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
-Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a high-paced environment
-Ability to hold employees accountable
