Accounting Manager is a "hands on" person responsible for maintaining the plant cost system. This person will be responsible for cost controls, cost savings, financial reports, and cost studies, and will report directly to the CFO.
Duties and Responsibilities
Masters Degree, or an additional certification (CPA, CMA, etc or working towards one of these certifications).
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all financial reporting. This person must monitor material and finished goods inventory movement and conduct the annual physical inventory. This position is also responsible for maintaining PC based programs controlling the Fourth Shift system and other network packages.
Requirements The job requires a strong background in the following areas:
Cost management & analysis
General accounting – monthly financial statement entries and reports.
Financial reporting & analysis
Budgeting & forecasting development
Management of cost system – maintenance & integrity
Develop cost models & product pricing studies
Data management – Support SAP processes & system development
Financial control documentation & testing
Ability to prevent problems and initiate corrective action plans
Ability to create direction & implement strategies
Ability to automate reporting & analysis through advanced Excel and Access tools such as pivot tables and queries
Four year degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and 5 to 8 years experience. MBA preferred and CPA helpful. Fourth Shift/Visibar/SoftBrands experience preferred. Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Standard Cost and relational database systems experience preferred. MicroSoft Excel required. Must be able to author and maintain programs to accommodate changing business needs. Must be able to perform under changing deadlines in an accurate and timely manner.
