We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Buyer Planner to join our Hopkinton, MA team. In this role reporting to the Materials Manager, you will be responsible for activities related to ensuring flow of purchased materials (replenishment) into Barry Controls facilities located in Ithaca, Michigan and Hopkinton, MA. This will include, but not be limited to, purchased material planning and scheduling, Kanban signaling, expediting, and inventory optimization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage blanket supplier agreements to support Kanban replenishment.
Optimize Kanban sizes to align supplier capabilities with customer demands.
Develop and execute appropriate material flow strategies and inventory stocking positions to optimize inventory and integrate with supplier capabilities.
Review MRP messages to re-schedule delivery dates balance material availability and prevent over-supply. Engage suppliers on receipt due dates to prevent material shortages and expedite late deliveries, as necessary.
Drive collaborative solutions between Customer Service, Suppliers, SQE, Sourcing Manager, and Production to achieve conformance, PPV, and on-time delivery. Measure and correct supplier performance results for PPV and on-time delivery. Facilitate supplier reviews and short-term containment actions.
Facilitate supplier RFQs in support of customer quotation requirements. Drive long-term corrective actions required to maintain PPV and conformance.
Apply ECO procedures to comply with disposition requirements and maintain product conformance.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities Required:
5+ years relevant work experience and Bachelor’s degree.
Working knowledge of materials practices within a DFT/Lean factory environment.
Experience using MRP tools and management of related data.
Candidates will interface with external suppliers domestically and internationally and therefore must have adequate communication skills to represent Barry Controls to the external community.
Demonstrable success as an individual contributor in a team-based environment.
Knowledge of Oracle and CPM are highly desirable.
Proficiency and use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
