This position ensures efficient operation of CNC milling area; provides direction to operators; backs up Engineer for programming on MasterCam. Reports to Production Manager. Graduation from high school or trade/technical school required.
Specific Accountabilities
Set-up and operate CNC milling machines
Provide direction to operators
Identify and resolve process problems
Work with engineer to identify set-up reduction and tooling improvements
Schedule throughput for on-time deliveries
Provide inspection as required for first piece and final product
Back-up engineer for programming on MasterCam
Oversee the maintenance on CNC milling equipment to assure that it is in good working order and arrange for service as needed; assist in defining a maintenance schedule
Skills Required
Seven to ten years of CNC machining and programming, with proven problem solving skills
Must have experience as a supervisor
Must be proficient in reading blueprints
Must have experience in using measuring equipment and performing inspection
Exposure to, or understanding of Lean Manufacturing is a strong plus
Willing to advance and assume additional responsibilities
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; anything in excess of 50 pounds requires assistance
Standing for the major part of the day
Reaching and bending to operate equipment
