Lean Bronze Certification Review Course & Exam in Worcester, MA – November 1-3, 2007!

Sponsors:  Worcester SME Chapter 25 & WPI Student Chapter

Registration deadline:  October 12, 2023

SME, AME and Shingo Prize have combined efforts to produce the first widely recognized lean certification program consisting of three levels; Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each level provides an industry-recognized lean credential that documents your knowledge and skill. Candidates must complete the requirements of each level before progressing to the next.

Lean Certification benefits you and your employer. It benefits you by providing a widely recognized and transportable lean certification credential. Your company benefits from knowing that its lean practitioners meet a national standard for lean practices and ideas.

Not a traditional lean training seminar, this two-day review program (November 1 and 2, 2007) is a focused study session that prepares you to take the bronze level certification exam.  Study materials for the course consist of the body of knowledge listed at http://www.sme.org/cgi-bin/certhtml.pl?/cert/lean_certification.htm&&SME&.  These materials must be purchased and read by attendees prior to attending the review course.  Please bring your materials for use during the course and the open book exam.

The exam will be given on the morning of November 3. Those wishing to take the exam must register through our chapter at least three weeks before the exam date.

Our facilitator is Tom McBride, President of Partners for Creative Solutions, Inc.  Tom has over 30 years of engineering and manufacturing management experience with several manufacturing organizations.
Since starting PCS eight years ago Tom has helped numerous clients improve performance by applying improvement methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.  His seminars on a number of topics relating to waste reduction have been sponsored by organizations such as the Central Massachusetts Employers’ Association, the Purchasing Managers’ Association of Boston, and Quinsigamond Community College.
Tom holds a BSME from the University of Missouri-Rolla and an MBA from the University of Akron (Ohio).  He is a registered Professional Engineer (Ohio), is SME/AME/Shingo Prize Lean Bronze Certified, and is a member of SME and ASQ.
