Job Opening: Sales Manager, Manufacturing Software, Millbury, MA

Take over responsibility for National Partner Sales Channel program for small software company. Assist partner sales representatives to close sales of the BellHawk Software as well as recruiting new partners and managing partner relationships.

BellHawk Systems Corporation (BSC) is a small privately funded software company that specializes in providing real–time material tracking and production control software for manufacturers and industrial distributors. BSC is in the process of transitioning from being a regional systems integrator to selling its own BellHawk line of software products on a nationwide basis through a nationwide partner channel.

BSC has excellent products, happy customers, and a small but steadily growing group of nationwide partners. Currently there are 47 major accounts in the pipeline waiting to be closed. The challenge for the Sales Manager is to close the accounts in the pipeline and then to grow the partner program to 5 times its current size over the next two years.

Because we are not venture funded, all our investment in sales, marketing, and software development have to come from sales of software licenses and professional services that we provide to purchasers of our software.

We are looking for someone with a proven sales management track record. Our partner sales channel manager must be willing to execute and build upon an existing proven sales process. Initially, the primary responsibility will be to assist partners to close deals already in our pipeline. We do not require someone who wishes to establish a new sales or marketing strategy.

This position requires national travel, probably on an every other week basis. It requires someone who is physically able to tour industrial plants with clients, including, at times, climbing steep industrial stairs.

We need someone with a good IT domain knowledge and experience in the manufacturing industry. Must have had channel sales experience and formal sales training in solution selling. Must be well organized and a good listener as well as a good communicator. Must be able to write well and make effective presentations to small and large groups of people as part of the solution selling process to multiple decision makers.

We are looking for someone who has the industry background to understand our products and to be able to explain their features and benefits to our partners and their prospects. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial rather than big company background and be a self-starter who is able to grow a partner program without a large supporting staff.

We do have a marketing specialist in place who is responsible for the nuts and bolts of all BSC’s MARCOM programs (web, direct mail, seminars, trade shows, etc.). So we are looking for someone who wants to handle the sales and business development side rather than looking for someone who wants to do marketing.

BSC is a Motorola/Symbol ISV and a Microsoft ISV. We recruit our partners from their channel partnership organizations as well as from the Sage partners program.

The Sales Manager for Partner Channel will report directly to Emily Green, the President of BellHawk Systems.
