Job Opening: Facilities Manager, Waukesha, WI

J&L Fiber Services, Inc. designs, manufactures and supports the application of refiner fillings, screen cylinders and cleaners systems for the pulp and paper industry.  J&L is a recognized international market leader. Duties
The Facilities Maintenance Manager will provide general management leadership for the department providing maintenance functions for the facility, including building utility systems, equipment maintenance, and building & grounds maintenance. Ensures that maintenance department objectives including project, cost, quality, and safety factors are met. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Coordinate maintenance related activities at both the manufacturing facilities.
  • Project responsibility for any large capital projects associated with the operations.
  • Forecast budget requirements and then monitor expenses so that budgets are not exceeded.
  • Drive operational cost reductions of over $200k per year.
  • Initiatives to drive continuous improvement with better machines, improved maintenance processes, or equipment upgrades.
  • Maintain J&L’s environmental compliance.

Some key initiatives will include:

  • Implement Continuous Improvement activities to improve machine uptime and reliability, lower overall maintenance costs, and improve operational productivity and safety.
  • Develop, plan, and implement all facilities projects getting quotes, developing timelines, and coordinating execution of those projects.
  • Have ownership of the environmental plan, monitor compliance, and keep required documentation and testing up to date.
  • Develop Capital Appropriation Requests for large capital projects in the operational area.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset System so that all assets are properly tagged and tracked.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Formal training and project management, Total Preventative Maintenance, and exposure to Lean manufacturing principles such a 5-S, Value Stream mapping, Kaizen events, and Six Sigma
  • 5 – 10 years experience of progressive responsibility in maintenance preferably in a casting or metal removal environment.
  • Computer experience: MS Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Team leadership/management

Required Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in similar role
