Job Opening: Senior Director of Manufacturing and Production

Summary
Senior Director of Manufacturing & Production at E.A. Dion Incorporated. Directs, supervises, & coordinates the activities of multiple production departments, adjusts resources to maintain on-time delivery.  Supervises and manages lead people to include interviewing, counseling, discipline, performance appraisals, and ensuring adherence to Company policies and procedures. 

Responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the factory to obtain maximum efficiency from the production and operations departments.  Must be able to schedule and accomplish desired results in an effective and timely manner.  Must have strong leadership and negotiation skills, with the ability to recognize and solve problems affecting production. Must have the ability to listen and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Working knowledge of jewelry industry preferred. Responsible for training and cross-training of employees. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

  • Directs daily plant operations from stamping and casting, though packing
  • Coordinates activities of production/manufacturing departments with each other to ensure operational efficiency, and on-time delivery
  • Confers with Sales daily to review orders and work flow to determine any scheduling changes needed
  • Maintains strong relationships with outside vendors, and seeks and establishes new vendors
  • Ensures that factory departments are adequately staffed with properly trained personnel
  • Makes effective personnel decisions regarding disciplinary action, training, and performance & salary reviews
  • Employs, implements, and encourages the use of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Works with owners and upper management to set company strategy and meet set goals and objectives
  • Provide leadership and guidance for supervisors and lead employees
  • Works closely with Human Resources on employee relations matters
  • Monitors time & attendance for factory personnel to maintain accurate payroll processing records

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implements the policies and goals of the company
  • Member of Senior Management Committee, Administration Board, Production Board

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and indirect supervision of employees, subordinate supervisors, & lead employees

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Senior VP of Operations

Fiscal Responsibilities

  • Mindful and aware of minimizing production costs, including labor and materials

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Must be detail-oriented and problem solver
  • Must be an ambitious, driven, and self motivated -“Team Player”
  • Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Computer skills are required; some use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, or Netscape; also one must learn how to use our manufacturing software for reports and information
Credentials and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Management or related education
  • 7-10 years Management/Supervisory experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Experience working on a computerized manufacturing or business system (experience with Lily Manufacturing Visual Software a plus)
