Position Overview Directly supports Supply Chain as lead technical interface with supplier base; drives transition to full turnkey procurement solutions for DB-110 & Orion avionics & opto-mechanical subassemblies. Supports materials management strategy objective, including:
Cost & Lead Time Reduction activities
Quality Improvement
Implementation of Lean Manufacturing Processes
Implementation of Manufacturing ‘Best Practices’
Primary Responsibilities
Support Supply Chain & Manufacturing Objectives aimed at leveraging supply base to reduce delivery lead time & product cost
Serve in ‘project management capacity’ to ensure sourced materials achieve cost, delivery & quality targets
Support Supply Chain Management initiatives by conducting/leading continuous improvement activities with key suppliers
In coordination with Supply Chain & Quality organizations complete supplier assessments; monitor supplier performance via ‘Aerovantix’ system
Coordinate with functional staff to develop Supplier Statements of Work (SOW); Functional Test Capability & Procedures; Material Evaluation & Acceptance criteria
Coordinate functional staff required to troubleshoot complex component, subassembly, system and process problems; determine the root cause
Represent Manufacturing through participation in weekly CCB meetings
Prepares and presents key production results to management
Experience/Qualifications BS degree in Engineering and at least 5 years experience as Manufacturing or Industrial supporting Manufacturing Operations
Experience with various electrical interconnect technologies; cables, wiring harness, and flexible circuits.
Strong management & interpersonal skills
Ability to develop & execute strategic plans while supporting day-to-day operations
Must have demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and a proven track record with application
This position requires an action-oriented individual with exceptional communications skills, ability to perform highly complex and varied tasks using independent knowledge
Strong software systems/tools experience; applications should include: ERP, MRP II, Statistical Analysis Tools, MS Project, Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Up to 25% travel required
