Job Opening: Manufacturing Engineer, Precision Tool Group, Auburn, MA

Precision Tool Group (PTG) is a new organization, formed less than three years ago through acquisition. We are part of the Industrial Products Division of Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC), a major corporation based in Oregon with over 16.000 people, in over 80 facilities in 22 states and 16 countries. PCC stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol PCP. 

PTG has three sites in the US, located in Auburn, MA, Bristol, RI and Howell, MI.  We also have three sites overseas in India, China, and Ireland.  We produce tooling and dies and our brands are well known and respected: Reed Rico, Howell Pencraft, Hi-Life Tools, and Air Tuf.

Manufacturing Engineer
This newly created position will be based in the Auburn, MA. facility and will require spending time in Bristol as needed. 

Primary Responsibilities
Plans, directs, optimizes, and coordinates manufacturing processes in Auburn and Bristol.  Supports departmental goals through implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives, Six Sigma Quality, Value Added Engineering, 5S, teamwork, participation in value stream and product development team activities as required, 8-D problem solving, and other methods of continuous improvement. Develops, evaluates, and improves plant layouts and manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Responsible for capacity planning model. Achieves objectives for sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and product performance through capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments, and procedure changes.  Maintains safety, product quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties. 

Requirements
BSME/IE or other related technical major, or equivalent combination of training and experience, plus a minimum of 3 years Manufacturing Engineering experience in a metal working/machine shop industry including demonstrated success in implementation of Lean Manufacturing required.
