The MassMEP Lean Roundtable Series continues on September 13, 2023 showcasing Brockway-Smith Company, Hatfield! The Lean Roundtable series is an event that brings together Lean practitioners for a morning of networking and knowledge sharing on how to implement and sustain Lean manufacturing.
We will meet at Brockway-Smith Company, Hatfield, Mass., on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m.
About the Lean Process Brockway-Smith began their Lean journey about 2 years ago with the assistance of a Workforce Training Grant. Their journey has taught the entire company team about utilizing a systematic approach to change, willingness to try new things and creating cross functional teams to achieve higher productivity.
Plant layout and 5S changes have empowered the employees to work towards changing their environment and creating greater pride in their work. Equipment placement used to be determined by the equipment vendor, now employees have input into the placement, which resulted in capital equipment savings for the company with an increase in productivity.
