The MassMEP Lean Roundtable Series continues on March 15, 2023 showcasing Cardinal Health! The Lean Roundtable series is an invitation-only event that brings together Lean practitioners for a morning of networking and knowledge sharing on how to implement and sustain Lean manufacturing.
We will meet at Cardinal Health, Peabody, Mass., on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Results to date:
Inventory Reduced by 50%
Cardinal Health experienced a greater consolidation in receiving and density on put away pallets after Lean Implementation. Receiving steps were reduced by 30%.
Work in progress for returns processing was reduced from 4 days to about half-a-day.
Pick productivity in refrigerated pick zone was improved by 15%
The Cardinal Health Pharmaceutical Supply Chain facility located in Peabody MA is approximately 272,000 square feet, of which approximately 50,000 square feet is office space. Theymanage 35,000 SKUs and make approximately 1,670 daily deliveries over a customer base of 1,750 customers throughout New England. This facility began its Lean Journey with the help of Mass MEP about a year ago; more recently, a Cardinal-wide Lean Six Sigma initiative has been launched under the title of Operational Excellence. This facility continues to work with Mass MEP as well as the corporate training program and resources in order to embrace Lean as a way of life and part of what they call a Winning Culture.
