Associated Industries of Massachusetts (A.I.M.) is currently planning a Plant Manager Roundtable. Roundtable groups will be formed in various locations throughout the state and will meet monthly. The roundtable will be of great value to those individuals who, arguably, have the most difficult and demanding position in any company — the operations, manufacturing, and plant managers, as well as your company’s Lean manufacturing leader.
What is the Plant Manager Roundtable? The program is designed to evolve around the group’s needs. Each group will be unique and there will not be a "one size fits all" approach to the forum. There will be a "we’re all in this together" attitude, the kind of attitude that will keep manufacturing strong and productive in Massachusetts.
Members will set the agenda for most meetings. Discussions will include (but not be limited to) such issues as:
Problem solving
Program implementations
Training
Safety
Priority setting
Vendor selection and certification
Personnel problems
Quality
Members receive feedback and advice based on the real life experience of their peers.
An environment is provided for testing out ideas with a group of experienced professionals and avoids reinventing the wheel.
The Plant Manager Roundtable is made up of 8 to 15 participants.
The group will meet for 3 hours, monthly, for 9 months (excluding June, July, and August).
What is A.I.M.’s Role? A.I.M.’s role is to provide facilitation of the meetings and to take responsibility to provide follow-up on open discussions, questions or issues. When appropriate guest speakers will be available. A.I.M. will draw from its base of experts in the areas of Human Resources, Energy, Environment, and Safety. Through our affiliation with the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MassMEP), experts in all areas of Lean Manufacturing will be available as speakers or resources to help answer questions that will come up at our meetings.
Where Are the Roundtables Located? Roundtables will be held at the most geographically convenient location for each group formed. The roundtable could be at an A.I.M. location, at a member’s location, or at an area hotel’s meeting room.
What is the Cost of Membership? Membership for this program for A.I.M. members is $750 (9 sessions of 3 hours each). Membership for non-A.I.M. members is $1050.
