Highlighting the Importance of Technology at The Future of Manufacturing Symposium
By John Killam, Center Director, MassMEP
Industry news reports that technology will be the driving force for the future of manufacturing. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has invested about $113 million in 5 of the Manufacturing USA Institutes and MassMEP has a relationship with all 14 of the Institutes. To kick-off National Manufacturing Day and Massachusetts Manufacturing Month, MassMEP hosted The Future of Manufacturing Symposium where 6 of the Institutes were represented in panels. Keynote speakers included Lt. Governor Karyn Polito and Dean Kamen, as well as MassMEP presenting the Jack Healy Leadership award to Speaker Robert DeLeo.
Manufacturing is growing in Massachusetts. The event clearly demonstrated the trends of technology within manufacturing and how opportunities are out there for those willing to change and grow.
