Greater New Bedford WIB Helps Local Manufacturing Companies Find Trained Employees
On May 4th, the Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board graduated a class of 12 participants who were trained in the MACWIC Level 1 and Level 2 Applied Manufacturing Technology Pathway Certification. Participants were also trained in Lean Manufacturing, OSHA General Industry, problem solving and work readiness.
The training was a joint effort provided by MassMEP and Bristol Community College and was the second cohort trained under this model. The program was funded by a grant from the Baker-Polito Administration.
Following a "speed networking" job fair for local companies, the graduates and Career Center staff celebrated with cake and coffee. Congratulations to all of the graduates.
