TechBridge Challenge: Microgrids, Deadline Nov 6th

The Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSE) has launched a TechBridge Challenge seeking innovations that can advance the broad adoption of microgrids. Startups and entrepreneurs may apply to this Challenge using the application on the iStart web site.

TechBridge will award select startups with fully funded validation and demonstration projects provided through the world-renowned Fraunhofer network, one of the largest non-profit applied research organizations, to help applicants reach technical milestones and to prepare innovations for scale-up and strategic partnerships.

Over the past three years, TechBridge has provided contract services to over 20 startups through a series of grant award initiatives; these startups have collectively raised over $36 million in follow-on funding from a variety of sources. Definition for the purposes of this Challenge, a microgrid is defined as a combination of energy generating resources with an associated electrical energy load profile between 100kW and 2MW.

Applications will be accepted through midnight on November 6, 2013. Eligibility criteria and other relevant information are included on the iStart page. Please do not hesitate to reach out to techbridge.challenge@fraunhofer.org with questions. We look forward to reviewing your application.
